From fossil walks on the beach to presenting keynote addresses, Catrina can keep an audience of any age or size engaged. She is confident presenting on a wide range of topics, and her energy and enthusiasm are contagious.

About

Who is Catrina?

Catrina is a passionate and engaging geoscience communicator with nearly two decades of experience. She first decided to study geology as a child, when a wild and rugged geologist told her that rocks were the key to understanding whether or not aliens could exist! Fascinated by ancient worlds, outer space, and all things mysterious, Catrina loves geology for its multidisciplinary nature, a field where science, nature, art, history, and creativity collide.

Over her career, Catrina has had the privilege of working with organizations like the University of New Brunswick, their Planetary and Space Science Centre and Quartermain Earth Science Centre, Let's Talk Science, the New Brunswick Museum and Stonehammer UNESCO Global Geopark.

Today, Catrina continues to channel her passion for geology into inspiring others to ask the hard questions, explore boldly, and discover the stories written in stone all around us.

August 9-23, 2026 - Fundy National Park Geologist in Residence

Learn all about how much Fundy Rocks with Catrina in August! She is thrilled to have been selected as their inaugural Geologist in Residence, and will spending her Residency running public geology sessions throughout the Park!

This program is supported through the Canadian Federation of Earth Sciences, Parks Canada, and the Association of Professional Geoscientists and Engineers of New Brunswick

September 1, 2026 - Norton Fossil Forest Tour

Join Catrina for a guided hike through one of her all-time favourite fossil sites! Meet at the Valley Waters Information and Fossil Centre to check out the fossils on display before we head over to hike the fossil site.
